Camlin marketing alliance with ColArt bringing world’s leading art brands to india 

 
ColArt’s Winsor & Newton and Reeves,Lefranc Buorgeios, Conte, Liquitex and Tulip paints to be launched in India
 

Mumbai, October 30, 2006 : Camlin, the pioneer in the art materials and stationery segment in India , today announced its marketing alliance with ColArt Holdings International Ltd. UK , the world’s largest conglomerate in the field of art and craft material. Camlin will now market ColArt’s brands to Indian artists. The brands owned by ColArt include legendary Winsor & Newton and Reeves from Britain , renowned French brands Lefranc Buorgeios and Conte as well as the iconic American brands Liquitex and Tulip. Indian artists are familiar with these brands.

Said Dilip Dandekar, Chairman & Managing Director, Camlin Limited, “Considering the global popularity of Indian art and Indian artists’ quest for world class materials, Camlin in its role as the pioneer in art in India has entered into a broad based alliance with ColArt Holdings International Ltd. to satisfy the demand and offer an extensive choice to Indian artists, who have become more sophisticated and demanding.”

He adds, “The alliance between Camlin & ColArt is wide-ranging and committed to explore all possibilities, including manufacturing and marketing. ColArt brands will be made available to the Indian art fraternity starting with a range of Winsor & Newton and Reeves products in the first phase. These brands are widely recognised in India . The products to be marketed include soft pastels, oils, acrylics, water and poster colours, pads and easels. In the second phase, the consumer and trade can look forward to the world renowned Acrylic colours of Liquitex, products of L & B range and some exciting pastels and other products from Conte. In fact, the newly formed company, ColArt Camlin Ltd. Has already started to produce and export canvases for global markets.”

On the occasion of the announcement, Camlin hosted their guests from ColArt along with leading artists and art dealers at a party at Blue Sea , Worli.

The guests included the Who’s Who from the world of art including Vasudev Kamat, Charan Sharma, Anjana Mehra, Suhas Bahulkar, Papri Bose Mehta, Samir Mondal, Prafulla Dhanukar, Arzan and Kushnuma Khambatta, Sudarshan Shetty, Julius Macwan . Also present were noted art dealers.
